hey all! im nocornerbox, and this is my little corner of the internet, dug out with blood, sweat, and mozilla html tutorials. i dabble in a good few things, and intend to use this as a repository for my few good things. stay as long as you like, but know this: the more things you click on and get other people to click on, the more dopamine i get.
This is a personal site, so you'll find things to do with me, my hobbies, and my subpar html (is the joke old yet?)
More specifically, you'll find my thoughts on literary and cinematic works, some of my own writing, and my music. If I don't forget to add them, there'll always be icons at the bottom of a page for your navigatory pleasure.
Probably the home or landing page, but I'd hope you could figure that out.
After that, take a look at the music page. Got a cassette deck over there that's half-way functional (try reloading the page if it isn't), and you get to choose some background noise while you browse through the rest of my website.
The book page was my first attempt at "complicated" formatting (literally just a grid), and imo it's pretty pretty. Worth checking out, at least.
The film page is like the book page, but about movies so not lame. And also there aren't any movies there yet.
The museum and politics pages aren't up yet, but they'll be pretty nifty too. Eventually.
The atlas page is coming along slowly, but there are some pretty cool integrations over there. javascript integrations. My first attempt to "use" js.
What are you, a fed?
Ask your mom. It's hard to explain. But I believe in you: someday, you'll be as cool as me. Until then, to prove to the world that I'm in your corner, put my button (top right) on your website.
melonking.net is a concussive shotgun blast to the past. I wasn't alive in the 90's, and it holds no nostalgia value for me, so I know there's something more to this website. And I think that "something more" is passion. Daniel's online history is recorded here, and melonking.net is simply the newest layer. Something about that appeals to me. If you need more of a reason to check it out, he somehow implemented an interactive 3D scene on the main page. And I'm pretty sure I heard 8-bit Weezer somewhere, too.
reon's webpages has a nice, warm-code aesthetic. Take a look at the pictures: they are pretty natural and suburban landscapes for sure, but what grasps me is just how they transport you there. idk. It's a shame this site looks abandoned.
Frutiger Aero Archive should be your first stop if you want a hit of nostalgia. If the early 2010's were nostalgic for you. I'm not a big fan of the frutiger aero aesthetic, but it feels nice to return to every so often.
Music and Stories by Frank McKinnon is just so personal, not to mention the great music he's got over there - originals and covers. What really won me over, though, is the picture with the cat on every page. Cats are great.
No Happy Nonsense just has a lot of stories. I look forward to filling the gaps in my day by reading Mike's microfiction (could even say MIKErofiction. ba dum ch.)
