The Shame of the Nation

It's a good nonfiction book. I don't like nonfiction, so y'know... Most of it was a crawl, but I did find the middle couple chapters about urban high schools fascinating.
The Image of the City

The content is great. Fundemental to urban planning yada yada, and I feel I have a better understanding and appreciation for the city. But it's so damn academia-pilled. It's a hundred page essay.

This was the last book I read for AP Lit, so maybe I was just tired, but this book doesn't feel like it has much drive. It's deep and there's plenty to dissect, but I didn't enjoy reading it very much.
The Handmaid's Tale

The writing is gripping, so even while there's little plot, Offred's narration of the simple day-to-day was really engaging. Also, the interspersed bits of worldbuilding were like drugs. Always wanted the next hit.
Also, I noticed some fascinating parallels with Tale of Two Cities.
Tale of Two Cities

Frenchmen, Englishmen, and 18th century writing. This book disgusts me. Interesting plot, but that doesn't matter much cause it's all at the end!
The Martian

Lotta math jargon but the English between is witty and driven.

Kudos to Vergil, this fanfic is very faithful to the source material. By that I mean it's boring as shit.

HOLY PEAK. Read this in 3 days. It is 900 pages. That should tell you enough.
The Memory Police

By no means bad. It's a good book. It just feels like it's missing the umph it deserves.

Andy Weir's always good, but this is his most forgettable book. Cool concept though.

HOLY PEAK. Really interesting event and characters, even if writing isn't perfect.
The Song of Achilles

Long ass AltHistHub video. Fun if you're a fan, but little value outside that.
Animal Farm

Should probably read this before 1984. Very fast.
1984

Literally 1984. It's detailed but not drawn out. Also literally 1984.
